In 1880 the fledgling Denver & Rio Grande took delivery of a series of coal cars, or gons; as part of the Colorado Rail Services Trust. These cars were part of Trusts C, D, and E and numbered 8200-8939. While the cars are listed as being 30', they were actually 28' over the end beams.
You have to love these cars. Seriously. Low slung, with a meager 15 ton capacity, these cars were just plain cool. Our kit includes our lettering for D&RG. If you prefer the complete CRS Trust sets of lettering let us know and we will include those at no charge.
Each kit comprises the finest laser cut basswood and plywood, super high resolution and primed 3D printed hardware, San Juan Model (Grandt) hardware, brass wire and decals.
Trucks for these cars are available from us in On3 and in Sn3 from The Leadville Shops.
